MISSION STATEMENT
I began MY MOTHER’S HOUSE because I wanted to warn, and to share my mistakes with, countless seniors and the tens of millions of "baby boomers" who constitute the next generation of seniors: The elder care system and long term and skilled nursing care catastrophe threatens them all.
I also wanted to share with others the healing potential in holistic medicine that I learned from the health challenges Mother and I faced.
But perhaps in truth I have been most compelled to write this memoir to better
understand how my mother and I changed over half a century, to make
emotional sense of the horrors of her last months, and to deal with my
grief at losing her and the deeply loving friendship we had made.I hope our story will provide insight and useful information to people of all ages.
