Alexa Wolf -The Writer Who Never Sleeps
Ask writer, Alexa Wolf, “When was the last time you had a good night’s sleep?” She is momentarily speechless because she suffers from insomnia. On any other topic, however, this smart woman always has something intriguing to say.
Astrologically a Leo, and geographically a Los Angeles native (whose favorite color is gold), Wolf accrued a strong fan base among various writing instructors at the U.C.L.A. Extension School. One multiple award winning author and Instructor there, Carolyn Howard-Johnson, is quoted as saying, on www.alexawolfonline.com, that Alexa’s new nonfiction book, My Mother’s House, A Memoir, is “fraught with emotion and conflict, full of compassion and hope...a memoir that draws you to it, grabs hold and won’t let go.”
Jacqueline Marcell, elder care advocate, speaker, radio host and author, calls the memoir by Alexa Wolf: “A can’t-put-it-down mother-daughter saga unfolding over fifty years of heartbreak, inspiration and healing.”
Wolf asked herself, as she wrote, “How do you create a cliffhanger? How do you hook your reader? How can the end of each chapter have a spin, as does a good mystery? And how to reconcile when characters have contrasting natures?"
Now she is asking herself, “What are the best ways to promote and market my book, given limits of one’s energy and resources?”
The answers to these and other questions will be brought to the table on Saturday, March 15, 2008, when our Writer’s Club is graced with the presence of this promising new memoirist who has plumbed the depths to tell us her story.

20 February 2009...8:05 pm A friend of mine from the early Hollywood days is being interviewed tonight for her book, My Mother's House. She's on something called "Author's WebTV"
and is testing the waters of this brave new world. I was talking with
another friend about the interview, and about the sad truth of the
modern writing profession: you have to be not only a free-lance writer,
but a free-lance publisher, publicist, promoter, prevaricator and
proselytizer. ...Deleted
material. To see deleted material and other blogs about writing,
politics and other by Hart Williams, go to hartwilliams.com and/or http://hisvorpal.wordpress.com/Listen to Alexa Wolf's interview...
